Cruise & Maritime MS Magellan – Client Blog

I thought the Magellan was a very smooth and quiet ship at night, although I was told by a previous traveller that it was a “clangy” ship! – certainly not my experience! My cabin was excellent, perhaps in a good part of the ship, away from the fans which did seem to be rather noisy in some areas.

The crew on the ship as a whole were very good, I was very impressed with the cleanliness.

The variety of food offered in the buffet was very good, and as a vegetarian, I had plenty of choice, but I mainly enjoyed the salads.

Although we did not see the shows many nights, I thought the orchestra, the entertainment team and the costumes were very good, more professional than I had previously experienced onboard the Marco Polo.

The ship itself, whilst only small at the side of the huge cruise ships, was a little bit too big for our taste, but that is just my preference.

Overall an enjoyable cruise, though the River Cruises are definitely my favourite and I am very much looking forward to cruising down the Douro very soon!
